We had the company luncheon today, which I organize and supply with the "fun" activities (aka icebreakers, team building stuff). I found myself greeting people, asking about their lives, cutting the cakes, making sure there is music, trying to connect people, staying after and cleaning up. Basically acting like a pastor's wife. At work!
I am a pastor's wife. It is who I am and what I do. And I can't stop myself from being it EVERYWHERE! No, I don't need an intervention, I just need to accept the fact that it is what it is, and I am what I am. So if I run into you at - I don't know, the bookstore or Albertson's or Staples - and I start introducing you to people or sit next to you and pat your hand or greet you with a hug or offer you coffee and a nametag, just humor me. I can't help it.
