Everyone knows something's wrong, but they can't put their finger on it. Secrets, inconsistencies, confusion, fear. The psychological calisthenics become exhausting. And then the ghost shows up. The dead king of Denmark appears and the mystery begins to unravel. Before long the murderer is discovered, Hamlet has his revenge, and the Kingdom is back in good hands. Great story.
In an age where manipulation wins over honesty, where political savvy beats out integrity, and where truth is optional if it stands in the way of our goals, it is too bad we don't see more ghosts.
